Louis Munoz
Luis Muñoz holds degrees in Spanish and Classical Philology from the University of Granada. He has published five poetry collections: Septiembre (September) (Hiperión, 1991); Manzanas amarillas (Yellow Apples) (Hiperión, 1995); El apetito (Appetite) (Pre-Textos, 1998); Correspondencias (Correspondence) (Visor, 2001), for which he was awarded the Generación del 27 and Ojo Crítico awards; and Querido silencio (Dear Silence) (Tusquets, 2006). His collected poems, Limpiar pescado. Poesía reunida 1991-2005 (Cleaning Fish: Collected Poems, 1991-2005) was published by Visor in 2005. He has translated Giuseppe Ungaretti and Eugenio Montale, among other authors, and he has received numerous Spanish national awards, among which are fellowships from Ciudad de Córdoba (1995), Generación del 27 (2001), Ojo Crítico (2001), and Público (2006). Having taught courses at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, El Escorial and Universidad Menéndez Pelayo and in various American universities, he currently lives in Madrid where he is an advisor in the infamous Residencia de Estudiantes.
